Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026 · Effective date: 12 September 2026 · Application: Quitaro (dev.chetverg.smokefree), version 1.0.0 and later · Controller: 4etverg LLC (D-U-N-S 149931171)

This policy explains what information the Quitaro Android app and the Quitaro website handle, and why. In short: your quit record stays on your phone and we cannot see it. Payments go through Google Play, and we never see your card. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.

1. Who we are

4etverg LLC publishes Quitaro, a stop-smoking support app, and is responsible for the information described in this policy.

  • Developer name: 4etverg
  • Organisation: 4etverg LLC
  • Registered address: 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste R, Albuquerque, NM 87110-7825, United States
  • Phone: +1 505 407 9155
  • Website: https://4etverg.com
  • Privacy and support requests: support@4etverg.com

The app has no accounts, no cloud sync, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. It has one optional in-app purchase, a one-time payment made through Google Play (see our Terms of Service, Section 4).

2. What stays on your device

Quitaro keeps these records on your device only:

  • Optional name
  • Smoking history you type (years smoked, cigarettes per day, pack price, pack size, currency)
  • Quit date and any slip dates
  • Daily check-ins, your count of consecutive smoke-free days, and optional mood
  • Craving logs (time, optional trigger, whether the four-minute exercise was finished)
  • Language preference and reminder time
  • Whether you have completed the one-time payment, and your Friend Access status, including any invitation you have sent or redeemed

Some of this is information about your health, such as your smoking history, slips and cravings. It is stored only on your device. We do not receive it, and we cannot see, recover or delete it for you.

Whether your device backups include app data depends on your Android backup settings. Any such backup is stored in your Google account under Google's privacy policy, and we cannot access it.

We do not collect payment cards, government IDs, precise location, photos or contacts.

3. What we receive

3.1 Purchase records from Google Play

When you buy Quitaro, Google processes your payment. Google then gives us transaction records such as the order number, product, price, currency, purchase date, and the country or region of purchase (in some cases also the state or postal code), as well as refund and chargeback status. We do not receive your card or bank details, and purchase records are not linked to anything stored in the app on your device.

We use purchase records for accounting and tax, to calculate and document our charitable donation, to handle refunds, to prevent fraud, and to answer your support requests. Google handles billing information as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

3.2 Friend Access invitations

You choose how to share an invitation, for example through a messaging app. Quitaro does not access your contacts, and we do not learn who you sent an invitation to unless you tell us.

3.3 Support email

If you email support@4etverg.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it to answer you.

3.4 This website

Early-access sign-up. If you leave your email address to hear when Quitaro opens, we use it for one purpose only: to send you one message when Quitaro is available to everyone. It is stored by an email service provider acting on our behalf. We delete the list within 90 days after sending that message, or sooner if you ask. Because signing up can show an interest in quitting smoking, we treat these addresses as sensitive and never sell or share them.

Cookies and local storage. The site uses local storage to remember your cookie choice, which is necessary for the site to work. Analytics would run only if you choose "Accept all". At present, no analytics runs on this site even if you accept. If we turn analytics on, we will name the provider here first, and it will run only for visitors who have accepted. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the site footer.

Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider processes technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) to deliver the site and keep it secure. These logs are kept for a limited period.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • run the app's features on your device (check-in calendar, count, estimates, craving timer, reminders, and remembering your purchase and Friend Access status);
  • process and record purchases, calculate and document our charitable donation, and meet our tax and accounting obligations;
  • answer support requests;
  • send the one early-access message you asked for;
  • operate and secure the website.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for advertising, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

5. Who we share information with

  • Google, which distributes Quitaro and processes purchases through Google Play.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf (email delivery, website hosting), only to provide their service to us.
  • The charity we donate to (see our Terms of Service, Section 5) receives only aggregate donation totals, never personal information about you.
  • Others, when required. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety or property. If 4etverg is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred to the new owner, who must honour this policy.

6. How long we keep information

  • On your device: until you delete it in the app or uninstall Quitaro.
  • Purchase records: as long as needed for tax, accounting and donation records, generally up to seven years.
  • Support emails: as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up. You can ask us to delete an email thread at any time, unless we need to keep it for a legal reason.
  • Early-access emails: until 90 days after we send the launch message, or until you ask us to delete yours.
  • Website server logs: for a limited period, for security.

7. Your choices

Export: Settings → Your data → Export my data. The app builds a copy of your on-device record (profile, language, check-ins, read notes, cravings, reminder preferences) and hands it to your device's share sheet.

Delete: Settings → Your data → Delete my data. This cancels scheduled reminders and clears all Quitaro data on your device, including your count. It does not affect your Google Play purchase record. If you reinstall Quitaro using the same Google account, your purchase is recognised again. Uninstalling the app also removes its data.

Email, sign-up and purchase records: email support@4etverg.com to ask for a copy of, a correction to, or deletion of information we hold about you. We may ask for details, such as your order number, to find it. We will keep anything we are legally required to keep, such as tax records. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Cookies: use "Cookie settings" in the site footer.

8. Security

The information we hold is limited and protected with reasonable safeguards. Your quit record is protected by your device's own security, so we recommend using a screen lock. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

9. Children

Quitaro is not directed to children under 13. Do not use it if you are under 13, or under the minimum age for digital consent where you live. If you are 13 to 17, use Quitaro only with a parent's or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information, for example by signing up or emailing us, we will delete it.

10. Health disclaimer

Quitaro is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice. Recovery-timeline content is population-level public-health material, with sources cited in the app, and your personal figures are arithmetic from the numbers you enter. See our Terms of Service, Section 2.

11. Permissions and components

The app may ask for notification permission so it can show the optional daily reminder you set. Reminders are scheduled on your device, and we do not send remote notifications. You can refuse the permission, and the rest of the app still works.

The app includes Google Play's billing library, which communicates with Google Play to process and confirm your purchase. It does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs or crash reporters.

Source links open in your browser. Those sites are run by third parties with their own privacy policies.

12. Users outside the United States

4etverg is based in the United States, and the limited information we receive (purchase records, emails) is processed in the United States. We do not operate a user-data server for the app, so we do not transfer your quit record anywhere.

If you are in the EEA or the UK: your quit record is processed on your device to provide the app you asked for, and we have no access to it. We process purchase records to perform our contract with you and to meet legal obligations (tax and accounting). We process support emails to answer you (legitimate interests), and early-access emails and any website analytics on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. You can contact us to exercise the rights your local law gives you.

13. California: CalOPPA and Do Not Track

This policy is posted in accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. It describes the categories of personally identifiable information we collect (Sections 2–3), the categories of third parties we share it with (Section 5), how you can review or ask us to change or delete it (Section 7), and how we notify you of changes (Section 15). Its effective date is shown above.

Do Not Track. We do not track you across other companies' websites or apps, and we do not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use Quitaro or this site. Because there is no cross-site tracking to switch off, we do not change how we operate in response to browser Do Not Track signals.

14. Consumer health data (Washington, Nevada, Connecticut)

Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how we handle consumer health data under the laws of Washington, Nevada and Connecticut. It is published as a separate page and linked in the footer of our homepage.

15. Changes

We will update this page and its "Last updated" date when this policy changes. For material changes, we will also give notice in the app or on this website before they take effect.
